How to Find Durlston Bay
Grid Reference
British National Grid
SZ 03579 78339
Degrees
50.60475°N, 1.95079°W

The best way to access Durlston Bay is via the Durlston Country Park, here there is a large car park with toilets, cafe and other attractions. This is also the official route to Durlston Castle. Unfortunately recent landslides have destroyed the former 'Zig-Zag Path' the old route to the beach. Caution signs warn you of active landslips, however it is still possible to walk down the landslide during dry spells. The path should be re-opened officially in the future and may well be open today.

The road that takes you to the car park, may seem like you have taken the wrong direction, it is a narrow road with speed bumps etc and does not look like an official route. Both ends of Durlston Bay are good as the mammal bed dips at both ends. Depending on landslips, either end can be better than the other, it is best to exmaine both.

(Access can be difficult, the landslips are still active) - 2002

(The hotels at Durlston Bay are very well protected) - 2002
